Branché·e est un projet de scénographie conçu et réalisé fin 2025 en collaboration avec Eric Schrijver, artiste, designer et auteur·e. Gilbard a participé à la transformation d’un salon d’appartement en un espace dédié à la performance et à la création de contenu pour le blog « I like tight pants and mathematics », édité par Eric Schrijver et designé par Roxanne Maillet.
Le projet se décline en quatre interventions. D’abord, l’installation d’une scène modulable, composée de dalles de faux-plancher récupérées du WTC, mises à l’envers et polies, reliées par une ossature en lattes de bois permettant le passage des câbles. La scène héberge le dj-booth, réalisé par Eric auparavant à partir d’un rack serveur peint en rose et d’un plan en marbre rouge. Ensuite, l’installation d’une barre mauve en hauteur, qui fait office de grille technique ; la transformation d’une table en travertin, équipée de roues jaunes et de prothèses mauves pour s’adapter aux contours de la pièce ; la création d’un établi sur mesure, conçu pour travailler le bois, le textile et l’électronique. Ce qui relie ces différentes interventions est un langage visuel formé non par soustraction mais par prothèse: le métal et le travertin sont transformés par l’ajout de différentes formes en bois recomposées, teintes en mauve glossy.
Branché·e s’inscrit dans le cadre de la recherche artistique éponyme soutenue par le FNRS/FRArt, avec l’accompagnement d’art/recherche et en collaboration avec l’ESA le75. Iels soutiennent Eric Schrijver dans son exploration d’une esthétique anti-minimaliste et anti-miniaturisée des objets techniques et électroniques. Il s’agit ainsi d’une tentative de créer un espace technique et scénique aux antipodes du straight : maximaliste, coloré et chunky.

Branché·e is a scenography project conceived and realized end of 2025 in collaboration with Eric Schrijver, artist, designer, and writer. Gilbard contributed to the transformation of an apartment living room into a space dedicated to performance and content creation for the blog I like tight pants and mathematics, edited by Eric Schrijver and designed by Roxanne Maillet.
The project unfolds through four interventions. First, the installation of a modular stage composed of raised-floor panels salvaged from the WTC, turned upside down and polished, connected by a framework of wooden slats that allows cables to run underneath. The stage hosts the DJ booth, previously built by Eric from a server rack painted pink and topped with a red marble surface. Second, the installation of a purple overhead bar functioning as a technical grid; the transformation of a travertine table fitted with yellow wheels and purple prosthetic extensions to adapt to the contours of the room; and the creation of a custom workbench designed for woodworking, textile work, and electronics.
What connects these interventions is a visual language shaped not through subtraction but through prosthesis: metal and travertine are transformed through the addition of various forms made from reconstituted wood, finished in glossy purple.
Branché·e is part of the artistic research project of the same name, supported by the FNRS/FRArt, with the support of art/recherche and in collaboration with ESA le75. Together, they support Eric Schrijver’s exploration of an anti-minimalist and anti-miniaturized aesthetic of technical and electronic objects. The project is therefore an attempt to create a technical and performative environment that stands at the opposite end of the spectrum from the straight: maximalist, colorful, and chunky.
